San Francisco 2009- Installment #2

Our second day in the city started out really slow, but once we got going the day turned out to be one of the best.


In the morning we scheduled an afternoon bay cruise and then hopped on a cablecar into Chinatown to have lunch. Little did we know, that this part of town could be so rough....

My most memorable moments in Chinatown include:
-The homeless woman who yelled profanities at Camille while we were stopped waiting to cross the street.
-Watching Camille constantly look over her shoulder to avoid said homeless woman.
-Exploring all of the different shops.

After our adventures in Chinatown we went back to Fisherman's Wharf and checked out the Aquarium of the Bay. My favorite thing about this aquarium is their moving walkway that takes you through a glass tube right in the middle of a large tank filled with fish found in San Francisco Bay.

Following the aquarium we had reservations to take a bay cruise under the Golden Gate Bridge.

The cruise was beautiful, but windy.
Scott's coat would balloon up with each gust of wind.

Our cruise took us right past Alcatraz. We didn't have the chance to visit the island this time, but we'll go the next time we're in the city.

That night we had clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl at Boudins. They claim to be the first place that served clam chowder in sourdough.... Who knows if that is true, but the chowder and bowl were delicious!!!

While the rest of my family decided to visit the Wax Museum, Scott and I went back to our favorite place on Pier 39 and said goodbye to the Sea Lions.
After our fun-filled day, we headed back to our ferry to make our way back to the condo. The view of the city was absolutely stunning as we made our way across the bay. This was our last day in San Francisco. The next day we would drive to Monterey Bay, California.
